This was a shot that I did today, have something else I'm going to use but wanted to know what others thought about it and maybe how it would have scored if I had entered it.
I did this one just now (about 1:10 A.M. Central Time)
This was almost dead center
The last one is also in this thread

I would have given it a pretty high score, but then I don't always pick the winner. Nice photo in any event. |

The subject isn't very interesting, but I like the composition. The tree frames the building nicely. Overall the image seems a bit dark. I would have adjusted the levels to brighten it up a bit. I'd probably give it a 6 or 7.

Would the second one get me DQ'ed?

I wouldn't think so. After all, you didn't add the eye, or move it from somewhere else in the photo (I hope). :)

Like:.....................................Or:

Why would it get DQ'ed? For posting it in the forums?

No because I changed the color of her eye, and anything posted in a forum you can't submit...if you did everyone would know it was yours...and that's not fair.

Ya, I measured it too. Actually, I meant it as a little joke based on the challenge criteria. It's really a very nice photo.

for advanced editing, i think your fine... if you'd want to be safe, instead of changing the colour, put a mask over the eye, and bring out the green by using contrast enhancement (you could then even darken the red to make the green more vivid). |

I personally think a centered composition does not have to be the exact center! Perhaps the better word for that would be "centric"? But despite the fact that Mick was kidding below, I know the kind of comments that will be coming for those who don't hit it exactly. |

I don't think so because it is an advanced editing challenge. In this case you might have asked to have the image validated BEFORE the challenge begins to keep people from thinking that later.
The skin of your model looks a little "oily". That is common in digital images. I'd recommend a measured amount of NeatImage to smooth it out a little. It can work wonders for human skin. Otherwise it is a terrific image.
The important thing in this challenge is the main subject be ABSOLUTELY dead centered. Square is probably a good format for most, but not all, submissions.

Where else... //www.neatimage.com/ ;)
There is a free version there you can download and use.
I purchased the version that has PS plugin and I use it frequently because I get lots of background noise from my camera so need it. That version also has other advantageous (like saving to .tiff and applying to selected areas of the image) that I like as well. But it is expensive.
