| Is there a fairly fast way to find the previous Contre-Jour challenge, without having to wade through 112 or so pages of old challenge archives? And what exactly is the diff between C-J and backlighting? |

| Use the "Challenges/History" link...then sort by Challenge using the arrow for that column. When sorted in ascending order the first Contre-Jour challenge is on page 12. |

| There's a faster way: On the Challenge history page, there is a "Show all challenges at once" checkbox... |

You'd still want to sort them, or use Ctrl-F to find it on the page. |

After browsing through both C-J and Backlighting challenges (not posting the link this time - so that you learn how to fish :) )
IMO - Backlighting does not necessarily need to have the camera pointing at the light source, and your backlight most of the times is not the main light source, whereas in C-J most times (not everytime) your camera is pointing towards your main light-source. |

ETA: Have to admit, still looks an awful lot like backlighting...well will do my best.
