I went into the woods tonight, seeking... I'm not sure what. Something outside. A tree maybe. A breath of fresh air perhaps.
I’ve tried to photograph this bridge before. It’s a semi-regular haunt of mine, these woods south of the city. There’s a dock to stand on and photograph the bridge from. But without a ladder the city lights are right behind the bridge. Never have I ever gotten a shot I liked. Until now. Had a fast-50 on, been trying to use it more. Focused in on the reflection in the water, then went and stood on the bridge. Held a lighter by my face.
I went out for some self reflection, I guess. Been working hard lately, hard at a business that is not photography. Feeling, as Bilbo might put it, like a bit of butter spread over too much bread.
I'm a pleasant, well-adjusted adult, right? |
