Super happy to be on the front page! The shot was three bracketed exposures at f22 so I have to give props to my wife Bev and especially my dog Shelby for sitting still during 1/20th, 1/80th and 1/5th second shots. Thanks for all the comments, I actually had to tone down sun̢۪s rays because they looked a little manufactured in my first attempt.
We love this area and walk Shelby there once a week or so during the winter because it doesn̢۪t usually get heavy snow. It is the location of one of the first Lewis & Clark camps after entering the Rocky Mountains, Sacajawea started to remember her childhood home at this location (she was kidnaped as a child) and helped choose the route west. |

Incredibly beautiful scene and composition. Could just be the lay of the land, but horizon seems low on the right. Good detail and variation in grey values throughout. |

Very nice job highlighting the rays! Nice surprise of the person and dog, too. Lots to take in - beautifully composed to let us do just that. |

Personally I don't know if the dog and human were really needed in this picture. |

Oh I just spotted the woman and dog!! Is the horizon slightly tilted to the right? I'm one of those weirdos that is bugged by that. Nice shot. ;) |
