 sweet comments. actually this is not so farfetched as it looks. I was recently chewing on a rather aged stalk as I stood rocking back and forth by the wood stove trying to keep warm (and trim) in this part of the world when I decided to pull off the dangly strings. I discovered two things:they are very elastic and turn delicate shades of celery yellow and celery brown as they crispen up on top of the wood stove. Curls can be encouraged by knife or by heat.

C string collections are bound to become a rage long after I am dead.

Darn! My "7"s were the kiss-of-death to some of the best entries! Apparently, "well-shot" and "clever" didn't count for much in this Challenge. (Well, maybe your strings could have been a little sharper, but the image was better than many.)
