ah, but this photo is not nightmarish to me. The haze actually creates at least an attempt to escape the nightmare, to elevate the suburban nightmare to the level of myth. |

Got it again. You've got this love-hate thing down to a T!

Indeed it does. Your John Doe seems to be losing his head. Or maybe it just blends in with its surroundings. The Ultimate Conformist.

My nightmare is so much noise, lol. I like the idea but the grain obscures this an annoying amount; that thing beside him could be a pile of garbage, a big rock or a baby dragon for all I know. I don't personally find this engaging enough to draw me in. |

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Noise galore and an eclectic scene but the suggestion of colour - or, more accurately, the colour of a deep pink twilight is very compelling. Like the dream of a movie we never saw but scares us in our dreams just the same. This image just gets better the longer you look at it.
Critical stuff: Nope
Overall: There is something magical about this one. It transcends my eyes and appears to connect directly with my subconscious. Excellent. |

As a reluctant suburbanite, I can relate to that title completely! I love an image that allows the viewer to use their imagination. |
