I'm thinking this will not score well because the subject itself is not yellow. However, I like it and its golden tones so I'm going to give it a chance.

I did a search on "Still Life in Blue". Of course it was the subject that was blue in the majority of the pictures; however, there were some beautiful images where the subject was some other color entirely and the background was blue. I am sure the same would be true with yellow.
I am not surprised by the low score and placing of this entry. I particularly appreciate the critique (of "hidden while voting") that suggests some cropping and composition changes; very well taken.
This shot was quickly taken during a guided tour of a very dark period home in Montgomery, Alabama. I uploaded it early to think about it and intended to delete it but forgot until it was too late. Thanks for the comments.

It's an interesting attempt, and there are things I like about it. The pieces look quite interesting -- I'd love to see them closer in. The chess volume 2 is interesting. But there are many issues that are getting in my way. The blown highlights on the corner of the book, the chair (is it a chair?) on the left, the back corner of the board being cut off. (this, imo, is a case of either cropping it in closer to make it an obvious artistic choice, or getting the whole thing. Right now it looks like more of an oversight.)

Plus, I think the biggest problem is that yellow is more of a background color in this shot than an important part of the overall composition.

The wonky one really annoys me.
