I happily removed a lot of the focus using blur + blending. You focus heads should learn to stop worrying and love the blur. I'm very pleased with how this came out, even if I'm the only one. I did try b/w and w/o water but for me this is about the colors and the bird echoing the brightness of the water. But thanks for the thought!

Image is out of focus. Should consider using a tripod. Also can't distinguish the focal point of the frame.
