Me, camera, tripod and a very yellow bike went on a photographic trip to a neighbouring village, where this old abandoned house sits. When I was little and in daycare at the house next door, I was fully convinced it was haunted... however, the only thing haunting me today was a gazillion of mosquitoes! :)
This old refrigerator sits outside the abandoned house, and after much debate with myself, I decided to enter it instead of the whole house.
This is 3 exposures merged to HDR in Photomatix. I've only just started playing around with HDR, but I like the effect.
Some fiddling around in Photoshop as well. Levels, contrast, desaturation, sharpen, crop, save for web.

Brightness and contrast are good. Highlights are not blown out, and shadows hold the detail well.
Color, saturation and hue are accurate and realistic.
Focus is nice and sharp, depth of field has kept the entire subject sharp.
Technicals: The subject is centered in the frame. Rule of thirds, might provide some improvement here. The big thing that I see is, that the subject is a little lost in the competing grass, and the fence in the background. All these competing shapes, colors, and tones, make it hard for this interesting subject to tell its story. I like the rust patterns, but what really catches my eye, are the mechanical bits on the back of the cooler. I would like to see more of them. One thing I might want to see, is this done again in B&W. This would help tone down the distractions of the other elements in the image.
