 As it can be seen, a fully candid street shot. The blind woman is being assisted by another old lady who herself perhaps needs assistance, but she is doing everything she can to help the blind woman to get around despite the challenges she is facing herself due to her age. This to me spoke "sacrifice".

Congratulations on the ribbon. Lovely feel good shot. To me it says mutual assistance - guidance for the blind by the sighted, support for the frail by the more robust.

That is almost always where my f-stop resides in my street shots. I used to always have it at f/1.2 but it's just too risky and chance of misfocus on moving subjects is pretty high.

not much in this contest really spoke to me..this was an exception, like this in black and white compliments the old word feel of the location.

One of my favorite type of newspaper assignments is to capture "wild art", which is defined as "Stand-Alone, Feature Shot, Enterprise art are found moments that are intended to be realistic slices of everyday life" (definition taken from this glossary). These are typically images that caption themselves, not needing a lot of words to get their point across. For this challenge, I'm scoring images as whether I'd like to see them on the front page of a paper as feel good wild art. If I don't think they would make the paper, I'm then asking myself, "does it make me feel good?" If it doesn't do much for me, well then, oh well...

Nicely done! While not an emotion-evoking image, the sentiment does make me feel good.

erm... jon or allen, going for allen, nicely textured and rich contrasty black and white, doesnt scream feel good at me though, well infact not many in this challenge do but i like this shot 8
