Now we understand each other's comments in the FS forum :) You were robbed of a better finish thanks the 44 "below average" 5 or less slaps in the face.
I understood the technicals needed to get this shot, the effort, the skill, lovely pose, pov, upbeat of the wing, catchlight etc. but I felt that it could have been much sharper considering the sunny conditions. At least a 1/2000th would have done that at (ISO 400) or it was possibly too heavily cropped thus losing crispness. I couldn't comment on it during voting as I was torn between a 6 or 7. So I sat on the fence with a 6 sorry Ray. I gave out 61 votes of 7 to 10 and was fussy due it being a FS. |

| These are amazing birds and you have done well to capture it mid-flight. And look at those talons!!! It appears to lack the uber contrasty punch that many voters probably have grown to expect aroudn here. |

| 11 scores 4 or less????? It would be really interesting to know if any of them have ever tried to get an osprey in flight - or any other bird for that matter. Sorry - but you were robbed - I was your 10 - in my estimation you definately deserved it. |
