No way would I attempt to judge 'which is better' among these two. It's a beautiful bird and your photography has done it full justice.

Yes, a more classic pose, the FS is more dynamic. I think you made the right choice.

Ah, I love this one! I like the coloring of the other shot, but the positioning of the bird is much nicer here. I also really like the shadows on the right wing in this photo.

I do love this one so much better, it would have gotten a 9 or 10 from me. I gave the shot you entered a 7 though. It lacked the sharpness this one has.

A beautiful image - maybe with a bit more 'room' to fly than your entry. But I do like the lines and quirky look of the bird in your entry better.

Harvey, I like this one better! I scored the other high, and I would have scored this higher! I love the wing span and seeing the eye!!

This one is lovely too, and perhaps more classically elegant but I think the one you chose was better because it has more personality.
