Sat Luke near a wall, close to a window, used a gold reflector.

I think it's pretty cool how there are practically no catch lights in his eyes, but apparently that's not always a good thing, funny that!

I saw your thread about getting a 7 and so I thought rather than comment in that thread I would on this photo instead. I gave you a 7 I remember hesitating on this photo for a minute, I liked it I wanted to give it an 8 but just something was missing. What it is for me is the eyes. For me it is the most important part of the image, I don't necessarily mind that there are no catch lights but they are dark. The light hits his nose and cheeks and then fades from there. I don't think you wanted the nose to be the first thing someone looks at when they view this photo. So you needed to find some way to get more light into the eyes, either by lighting or by editing.

At any rate if you would like a 7 sometimes feedback is helpful before submitting an image. You may already be a part of a group. But if you would like feedback I am available most of the time.

Such seriousness! and great processing. It may be my monitor but you found the sweet spot for the right amount of "blue" tones in the black and white.

haha I had "too much" catch-lights. So I guess you and I have the ends of the spectrum covered? :)

He's a good looking boy. Love those eyes!

I edged you by one place. Blow it up and hang it. It's an excellent shot.

Great eyes and I like that you left some texture in his face. Would like to see a wee bit of catch light in those expressive eyes. Good job.

Again with the top of the head lopped off. Technically, this is a terrific image, artistically it is awful. Sorry, my opinion.

With his expression and the lack of catchlights in his eyes... this seems a bit "dark"

But, it's well shot... other than those catchlights.

ETA: Oh wait! I think it's me... I have to sit up high in my chair and look down on my monitor to see what others see. Now I see details (not catchlights, which is fine) in his eyes. Lovely.
