Astonished that I had not added this to my favs. It got a 9 from me and I'm not sure why that was not a 10. |

Nice light and silhouette. Nothing like having water in your shot to add to the elements. I do think the brick part of the walk is not needed and acts as clutter. You could have cropped or framed it out with better effect on the shot. |

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: A beautiful image, such detail in the silhouette, I really like the lift of the back foot and the slight transparency of the umbrella. The spray behind is immense and it makes us wonder if the umbrella is just for that or whether there is concomitant rain. Whatever, I want to know more about her - always a good sign.
Critical stuff: The DPC upload limits has given you two issues - because of your aspect ratio, the image is restricted in its overall size - perhaps chopping a bit off the top would have been a good trade(?) and then the 300K file size has caused your information rich specular background to manifest sharpening artefacts (criss-cross pattern) as a result of the jpeg compression.
Overall: A fine image that will place highly (I hope). |
