 I hung the banana by the feeder. The birds would check out the banana but not really where I wanted them. I took the plastic flower off a feeder and stuck it on the bottom of the banana and that drew them to the bottom of the banana. They are attracted by the shape of the flower not really the color.

Clever idea. What draws the bird to something like this. The color or is there something inside the red thing?

I sure hope that Hummer got rewarded for posing! Definitely an unusual way to lure one in, and she's beautifully detailed.
