Chester watches the world go by as sunlight streams through the window warming his contement still further. He can see for miles, he's fed and warm and can see his own reflection. What more could a cat ask for; a touch of in-camera sepia and a small boost to the contrast perhaps.

This looks like direct side lighting.

I'm going to guess that this shot won't be in the top 20, but it definately should. At DPC, you're taking a risk every time you submit a photo shat isn't tack sharp with perfect exposure ... but this is great stuff. You've created mood by blowing out the whiskers and some of the fur. I really like it alot. I wish I could see a little more of the head, but that's minor. Excellent Job ... 10

met the challenge, the whiskers are OOF on the left face of the cat and also there appears to be jaggies in them.

A very good effect as is. My taste is for a slightly weaker backlight. Bumping image for its general warm feel.

Love the color & composition - it's too bad it's not very sharp.

You might as well crop off the dirty mirror to the right. It is more of a distraction than an accent. (now, if only it was that easy to clean a mirror in real life!)

Lit from the side perhaps but not behind.
