Now this was a fun shoot, and I got a lot of kindling chopped in the process!

Yes, I did chop all the kindling you see there, though not all at the same time, as is insinuated in the headline. That's about 3 sessions worth of kindling of about a dozen cedar logs, at roughly an hour per batch.

For whatever reason, neither of my remotes would work consistently in the damp weather, so I got Ryan, aka Magnumphotography to hit the shutter for me. Only problem was, towards the end it was really tough to keep going as I was running out of logs to chop! That and making eye contact with the camera while chopping, without losing control of the axe on the downswing. You don't want to be sitting in an ER on a Sunday morning.

pp: altered RAW, crop, brightness/contrast, vibrance/ saturation, dodge and burn, minor cloning, desaturate, resize, sharpen, save for web

Can't fake this kind of chopping. This is a seriously good image. Interest everywhere, action, and a pretty girl to boot. Very well done.
