 The Cape Longclaw or Orange-throated Longclaw (Macronyx capensis) is a passerine bird in the family Motacillidae, which comprises the longclaws, pipits and wagtails. It occurs in Southern Africa in Zimbabwe and southern and eastern South Africa. This species is found in coastal and mountain grassland, often near water.

Whilst seemingly an easy shot (bird in a bush), they mostly hang out in the grass and the claws are thus generally impossible to photograph. So to capture it in a tree showing off its primary genetic feature and in overcast rainy conditions was difficult. (My difficult to shoot birdlife series)

I like this shot Harvey. I see the fieldmarks clearly and the legs and claws which give it it's name. Body and head remind me of Thrushes.
