Great lines, textures, shapes. A close up would make a terrific abstract.
Bought your brother's book - it arrived yesterday and we're looking forward to reading it. |

Love the photo and the description, not sure that I would eat it. You and your hubby should do a book he could do the identification and you do the photos. |

I adore mushrooms and pictures of mushrooms. I agree with bassbone, and others, I think close ups would be great. The hand gives an indication of size of course, but I would rather see the mushroom by itself ... just me and my musgroom frenzy ;-). We have a similar type of mushroom here in South Africa which apparently is also edible. Ours starts out looking quite "normal" and then "deteriorates" (matures ;-)) into this black dripping mess. Its quite offputting if you ask me, but apparently delicious to eat ... not so sure ;-) |

Great exp and BG. Worthy of an ID photo for a book. Most unusual stem and top.
I'd let you eat it first and wait 60 minutes! :) |

This is so beautiful - graceful and quite "other-worldly".... I have never seen this species before, but I love the incredibly fluid shapes and textures. The gorgeous deep greens of the background contribute to the primeval forest feel of this image, and I can imagine an elf using this a saddle.
I have to confess when I first looked at the image, I read the title as Helluva Lacunosa, and I thought, yep, it sure is..... Helluva amazing too.
Can't wait to see next week's offering :) |

I am truly impressed by those that are skilled in this area...a wonderful set of shapes in the mushroom....I think it is time to pull out the macro lens for some cool close ups! |

That's a very beautiful mushroom, and the earth looks so juicy. You could do a lot of close-up studies of this species :)

Like the light and the details of the mushroom. Doesn't look tasty, but maybe you know some good recipe for it. |

Beautifully captured, both exposure and focus. Looks like you need to find quite a few more before you have a meal. |
