every time i see an image divided, i think of my friend ed clarke ( e301) and the things i learned from him.

nothing against john or his tremendous body of work, but as this was more inspired by ed, i'll consider this a shoehorn and accept whatever the community wants to throw at me.

sweet! thanks, don! :D

ok, just less than an hour to go and it will be interesting to see how this all shakes out. i've been sitting around 6.5 nearly the whole week. 21 comments at the moment, including one from john.

even at this point, i'm still hoping for a top 20...i've been around too long and know better than to expect too much ;-)

thanks, everyone, for the wonderful comments and votes!

this was a quick, unplanned grab that i was lucky enough to witness just before the museum closed. it was absolutely serendipitous that it came close to meeting one of the running challenges.

This was one of my top picks - a 9 and a wonderful image. I love the divided look and the intentness of the gallery visitors.

the lighting and comp add to the mood. The lighting is like jagar-like. Nicely captured.

I'm guessing this is mariuca. It's very clever how you've put a wall between the art and the viewer. and a beautiful composition of light and dark.

I'm hanging this in my fantasy art gallery

It is the picture he is examining, and the text she is reading, none of which we can see but just imagine, that make this beautiful to me.

I love this vantage point. With the left side taking up more of the picture I wish the couple was a little lighter to keep my eyes from shifting towards the left so much.

If Jagar met up with Mariuca, this is what you'd get. Marvelous natural diptych!

Picture isn't as sharp as it should be. But the story and composition and lighting are brilliant! Keep it up.

This would have done it for me if the painting had a correlation to the couple. Still very good.
