The light and shadows work really well here. And great capture with the bird. There's something about the crop though, it feels a little too tight.

The bird makes it, as well as the cascading shadows and sunlight, the background, the title. The processing is not as super-contrasty, and you have tons of subtle grays that appear to be shades of tan and brown to my eyes, but this shot has the spirit and compositional forethought that is truly in line with the style...
