First submission. I was touring the town of Taormina, Italy on Sicily when for the first time in my life I was exposed to communist propaganda. As an American it was a very new experience that I didn't expect in a tourist town. I turned and took the a picture to document the experience. I later noticed how they were the only posters not weathered or torn, which made them stand out even more. this is basically how I saw the posters and pedestrian when I first glanced at the mural of advertisements. Honest feedback is appreciated.

imported through bridge, opened in photoshop camera raw, adjusted exposure, fill light, blacks, cropped, opened in photoshop,B&W layer mask for selective color, resized, saved as JPEG.

Greetings from the Critique Club :)

Welcome to DPC! I really like the composition and the cropping on this. These types of street shots are always appealing to me, you did a really nice job seeing the photo opportunity here and capturing a good moment with the subject walking into the frame.

Don't be too discouraged over this score, you have found out two important things about DPC with this image. 1: DPC voters have a much more critical eye than voters on most other sites. This is a good thing though, if you are open to criticism your photography will improve by leaps and bounds here. 2: DPC voters are VERY tough on selective desaturation. To me, selective desat is like frosting on a cake, a little is great but too much can make you a little sick :)
If you're early into learning photography this is something I think most of us go thru, experimenting with different techniques in photoshop. All in all i think there are definitely more positive things than negative. Keep shooting and entering!
