Left behind apple that has become "Birdie Nam Nam". Very cold clear winter day. Forced flash to lighten up the apple because the sky was in the background.

Critique Club Comment:

Are you alluding to the bestselling book series "Left Behind?"
You handled the light very well here. So often flash will give terrible glare, especially on ice. Using the flash was, of course, necessary because of the bright background sky.
The red is amazingly still quite vivid, rather than a rotting brown color. Good eye to have found this, and captured it.
The background branches make it a little busy but at the same time lends a sense of place, which is important.
On a personal note, I'd prefer to see this in a landscape mode, with the branch holding the apple, off-center. Although I am NOT a stickler for the so-called "rule of thirds" I think in this case it would enhance the overall composition.
Best regards,

Grayce

This is a neat photo. Ilike the way the twig shows so clearly through such thick ice. Great shot. PTL

Really neat photo. I do understand your point, but honestly, I had been hoping for more out of this world strangeness in this challenge. Cool shot, well taken.

Great shot, nice depth of field. I suspect that you wisely used a flash to fill in the exposure, good job.

This crabapple should not be there ;-) Good color, lighting and composition so as to not blowout the highlights on the ice or have the fruit to dark. Well done. (bump)
