My first shot (well my first photowalk and non-test shot) with my new Panasonic G5 and my 200-600 (effective) lens! Around (Correction) 2 lbs for a walkaround with a 600mm lens! I was carrying it in one hand without a strap.

Click "Show full size image" to enlarge and see it better. (It's not full size, but much larger!)

BTW - That's ice not water...the pond is frozen (it's an overflow pond near the Mohawk River)

WB :)

For such a small body, micro 4/3rds and the Lumix® G VARIO 100-300mm / F4.0-5.6 / MEGA O.I.S. Lens that is quite a feet.
Camera Weight Approx. 396g / 0.87 lb (SD card, Battery, Body)
Lens Weight Approx. 520g / 1.14 lb
So Yes that's 916g / 2.1 lb amazing!

Hand held and making use of I.S.? I'd be keen to see how it would perform on a tripod or bean bag and a little extra PP done to remove some of the visible CA when enlarged...but in all honesty this is so much more convenient than lugging a DSLR and 100-300mm lens about especially for travel. There's no (OOC IQ) substitute (yet) for a DSLR especially an FX sensor with full frame glass but in 5 years time? Not bad $1100 for a 16MP camera with 200-600mm f/5.6 lens...

What are the manual controls like and flight photography like?

Really great quality shot. The bare limb and bare legs go together.

Excellent detail. He looks cold with that lifted foot and the light background (which was doubtless water but looks a lot like snow to me).
