Challenge: Stopped Motion II (Advanced Editing II)
Camera: Fujifilm FinePix S2 Pro
Location: Massachusetts
Date: Sep 18, 2004
Aperture: f22
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/60th
Date Uploaded: Sep 18, 2004

Rubber stamped out some imperfections on board, and one ugly reflection on dart, and a few on the board, used multiple lights during exposure.

PS was selectively sharpen, USM, levels. Ended up not submitting the neat image version, but I am not sure about it.

P.S. This was far from my first entry. There are just too many knobs in Photoshop for someone with my skill.

Hi Bill,
Scott here from the Critique Club...

First congratulations on your 19th place finish and your third highest scoring pic. A great capture, perfect focus and DOF. I do see a couple of things that I would have voted this pic higher for. As is I voted a 5. For me a 5 is - meets the challenge and is technically sound.

Because this was a Members challenge with Advanced editing rules. I think the board could have been a lot cleaner. Clearing up all of the black and white flecks would have helped a lot for me.

The red shaft and red and blue flight kinda blend into the colours of the board. Something more contrasting and flashy would have added some "POP" for me.

So a good all-around pic, just needed a little more wow for me.
I had a good look through your port and really like the creativity in your work. Keep up the good work and more ribbons will defiantly come.

I hope my critique helps; I know it helped me to reinforce the details in my own work. If there are any questions/comments you would like on a particular aspect of you pic please feel free to PM me.
Scott

bulls eye! There is another shot similar to this in the challenge, but I think the composition in this one is nicer. Hope you explain how it was done.

Why do some members question these type of shots? It is a waste of time and effort. Very well done...on the money craftmanship. Bumping up.

I love the angle you shot this at. The colors are great. I hope that others have not accused you of faking this (like they have mine), because I'm sure this took a lot of time to set up and capture. Great shot -10
