(1) COMPOSITION (CONTENT) â When I first look at this photo, my eye goes to the centered camel. Then it moves up to the background, moves right to the camel master (?), and finally to the left to the visiting couple. The people on the sides balance this out well. If I could have placed the young lady, Iâd like to see her closer to the center & the camel. I like the variation in color here.
(2) BACKGROUND â Good. A bright sky, but thatâs the way it is.
(3) CAMERA WORK ,TECHNICAL â Very good. Girlâs pink sweater is a tad bright from the low sun.
(4) DIGITAL PROCESSING ,TECHNICAL â No recommended changes.
(5) MY OPINION ON THE PHOTO â A great photo, and technically meets the challenge well, as the couple are âin a strange landâ for them. But they are not really the main subject here. That doesnât detract from the quality of the photo, but it might have affected the way some saw it as precisely meeting the challenge. (Iâm guessing here, how else to explain the 5âs?)

This is just magnificent. A little washed out, but not too much. Don't know how you could have changed that on the sand. Love the colors on the camels. And I especially love how you framed it to meet the challenge - They're worlds apart yet side by side. Fantastic job of meeting the challenge with a fanstastic photo. It's a 10 and should be #1. Great imagery. Perfect compliance with the challenge. I think it might have a bit of overcontrasting, perhaps in post-production. A little softer light, colors and focus would provide a more stylish feel to the image, considering it represents a far away desertic land. The feet of the person o the lower left corner should be complete, although I do not know if they appear in the original, since it seems to be a candid shot. The choice of frame is very good. |

I think the crop is almost too tight on this, but I can understand why you did it that way ( I think). Excellent photography, and a good job at meeting the challenge! |

Very good photo. Challenge well met. Great color!!! I had hoped this challenge would bring out more "out of this world" strangeness, but this will do. A tad glarey on the blonde girl. 8 Swash |

Might not be strange to some people, but it sure is different than what you'd see in my home town :) Good job. Jakco. |

A winner! Certainly a strange place for those of us who do not live there. I like that mean looking fellow on the right. JEM |

Love this shot. Meets the challenge perfectly. From the look on the guy on the right, were you also looking out of place here? He looks a bit forboding! 9 |

The expression on that guys face is great. I like the space between the people with the camel lying perfectly in the middle. It just seems a bit overexposed. |
