Just a quick thought on why I didn't score this a 10. Excellent composition. Perfect focus and DOF. The color cast bothers me though. I don't think I'd really like it with bright white, black, and red, but I'm not crazy about the pinks either so... |

This is such a compelling photograph, it looks like you spent a bit of time setting up this perfected shot up -- whatever time was spent, it was well worth it.
The lighting is so simple, yet so effective with its warmth to set the mood of the photograph. The shallow DOF really grabs your attention, sets it on the rose, and then let's you look around to discover the piano keys, fallen petals, and sheet music.
The size of the photograph, somewhat wide-screen-ish, works really well to capture the main elements effectively, without gaining anything unnecessary, or losing anything necessary. This aided in the perfected composition of the photograph too.
I noticed that you placed 11th, and to be honest, you were robbed. There was another rose shot in the top-10 that didn't have near as much substance as yours does.
Relating to the challenge, Song Titles, and your chosen song, A Time for Us, couldn't be more perfect. The whole photograph is very romantic, from the fallen petal, the rose, the piano, and the lighting. It couldn't have been done better.
Very well done.

Excellent. The camera don't usually like reds, but this has turned out brilliantly! Lovely hue in the background. |

This is one of those classic image archetypes that has been popular for ages. Although I have seen this many times before, it is just like the overwhelming power of a glorious sunrise. The heart skips a beat. The visual strength of red alone shouts strong here. The touches of a single petal, the blurred music page, just three black keys against lots of white, the extraordinary lovely lighting on the rose itself, the serrated leaf edge...these are some of the elements that really pull this magnificent work together for me. I say pump your ego with at least a dozen 10's this week. Very well done! |

Lovely photo but it could represent any one of many songs. |

This is a beautiful composition... I wish the red/yellow tint could have been kept off the keys and the score of music tho... great shot :) |
