 Heavily cropped and shot with over 100 meters of water haze (dam) between it and I diminishing clarity. I'm still on the hunt for a decent image of this iconic African Raptor. This was taken in the heart of the city at the Rietvlei Nature Reserve. A wild bird, but in our midst, yet despite going 2-4 times a month, I see them here very seldom and then they are always very far from the hide. In order to get one in flight with fish in talons, I'll have to travel often and spend a lot of time in the bush. A difficult and pricey pursuit. One day the conditions might be right for me. Sure beats going to a baited site just to get a fishing shot.

Nice and simple image. Yet under the conditions it held up surprisingly well for a large crop.

Beautiful. I love all eagle pics. We saw a juvenile bald eagle this weekend and all I got was blurry pics but I love them too. He's so majestic there on his limb overlooking his kingdom, I mean dinner.

Pity you couldnt get coser! I totaly agree with yourbaited shot comments. There wer 2 at the vlei the other dayone had a fish. Not always there though sometimes they are at Zaihook dam.
