Location: Golden Gate Highlands Nat. Park, FS, South Africa
Date: Apr 29, 2013

Date Uploaded: May 2, 2013

Originally used as a kraal (pen) for keeping animals safe over night during the turn of the 20th century, 3 of the sandstone obelisks are unmarked graves. They were cut from the surrounding mountains and brought down by ox-wagon.

The title is poetic license and the picture my interpretation of the challenge. I had the camera low on the ground to emphasise the angle of the stones and my perspective of the scene. No major surgery was done on the image. NEF RAW to TIFF. WB to Sunlight, Nikon Landscape Picture Control, crop, resize, smart sharpen. Photographed with a particularly crisp and colour accurate Tokina 12-24mm f/4.

"Definition of obtuse : The adjective obtuse is good for describing someone slow on the uptake: 'Don't be so obtuse : get with the program!'
or
Obtuse may refer to: Obtuse angle, an angle of between 90 and 180 degrees; Obtuse triangle, a triangle with an internal angle of between 90 and 180 degrees ..."

Should one tone down the colours, to be more acceptable? I suppose it depends on what you want to achieve. Better points, tone down. But of course, being a South Effrikên, I like it as it is.

The image kept my attention for a long time.

Wonderlike foto..dis darem mooi wereld daar.

The light is gorgeous. I feel there is too much red in this image, and although a glorious landscape, I don't see this as an example of perspective
