All the bits of this were black. The challenge was advanced editing, so what is the problem with a conversion to black and white? Anyway there were plenty of other such conversions in here.

I see only blackness.

The mood created is quite dark, somber.

Lovely. Singular subject and frame filling wonderfulness. Hints of pearls on paper bark. Nice!

Love the patterns, but I'm not sure the grain works for this image. Too many textures vying for my attention. And for me, an image converted to black and white isn't the same thing as "black on black".

I can't tell if the dress and flower were originally black or if this was from photoshop (or whatever). It appears to be converted to black and white. I think the image is nice. I would have liked to have seen the flower in the bottom right of the image though.
