So our landscapes around here are pretty dull, but we do have a couple of cypress that are interesting for landscapes:
(yes, I consider river-scapes a subset of landscapes. :)
So there's this Swamp/pond/little lake thingy-ma-bob, that has some cypress that always looked interesting. I've tried, well, kind of minimially before to shoot them, but I haven't tried very hard. So I went out hoping for a nice day with good reflections. That's what cypress are good for.
Of course, I waited for the last day.
It was raining.
It was only a mist.
Maybe there would still be reflections??
Nope.
But there was a nice mist.
The trees for which I was going after, didn't do anything. They just sat there. And they were really boring without the reflection.
But I saw this guy and another one next to it. With the others off behind in the mist.
It really was quite cool that the colors came out in him, but were so softened in the background. When I played around in RAW, it even enhanced the difference.
Anyway -- best laid plans... This shot was much more ineteresting that the one I was going after. Those trees just weren't set up well. Even with a reflection, it would have been boring.
Scared up a hop toad while wandering around! (Well, we startled each other, actually).

| that is such a nice tree, don't you love trees, oh I do, especially these types. Glad it did well, there is quite a few of you in the TT with two ones, you get that! |
