(1) COMPOSITION (CONTENT) â From your title, your subject was the bare trees of winter. The photo shows that. You had three sight lines to choose from â viewed from the left tree line, from the center, and from the right side. I hope you took all three. Iâve tried similar shots, and found that an off angle sometimes looks better. I find that the centered view is the best when there is a subject or target at the point of convergence. I donât see it here. But this center line works ok â and you have everything well centered. I also like how you got close to the ground for the shot.
(2) BACKGROUND - I like how you chose a fair amount of negative space at the top. It works very well.
(3) CAMERA WORK ,TECHNICAL â The near trees are in good focus. The far ones are a tad blurred. Iâd recommend a smaller aperture, say f/11, and a tripod.
(4) DIGITAL PROCESSING ,TECHNICAL â The only minor change I see would be to crop out the small white paper centered in the foreground. I question whether this would have worked better in B&W. The green grass is ânot winterâ with the leaves down.
(5) MY OPINION ON THE PHOTO â A good photo which could have been improved (I think) with a different choice of shot angle.

The more I look at this the better I like it. It seems a bit grainy though. A little bigger file size and maybe Neat Image would have helped. Great shot though. |

focus more on our foreground to reduce blur. fg blur is more distracting than bg most of the time. |

Not bad. Good lines. Lots of noise from the lights and the extended shutter speed. |

Cool night shot. The horizon is tilted and there seems to be a bit too much space up top, I would crop in a inch or two. Maybe crop a bit off the bottom to get rid of the distracting white paper looking thing. |

Magnificent! Well balanced...well lit....the lines are wonderful!...the horizon seems a bit tilted from right to left but that may very well have been the natural state of the ground. Anyhow, good luck! |

Nice effect, I think I would have cropped a bit of the night sky out and mabey put the center of the trees a bit off center, but still I like it. 7. |
