Very interesting photo, to say the least.
I think the coloring really makes this image.
The focus does seem a bit soft, but not fatal. The trees are not as well defined as they could be. The lights in the hot spot to the right center of the image are blown out, and are the only real downside to anotherwise excellent image. Had you been able to move your location such that the hotspot was shielded from view, this could really help. I think that simple cropping alone wouldn't do it as you would lose a lot of the bright sky above those lights. Perhaps if you could have chosen an angle where they were hidden by trees/bushes/rocks etc.
The hillside to the left is brighter than the surrounding area, though there is not much to be done about that. Were it more orange like the rest of the picture, it would be better. But that would require editing that is illegal for the challenge. About the only other thing you could do is to play around with the overall exposure to see if that could help. However, when it is that cold you only want to spend so long taking pictures.

I can't figure out what the light is - is the forest on fire? |

It's on fire! I assume but I might be wrong, you used a filter to get the orange effect. The only thing that is a problem is the blown-out hightlights but it's a really well composed image. |

This is wonderful! Did you use any special effects/filters? I really like the color in this shot. Is that a town down in the valley? The hot spots on the right middle are a little distracting, but it wouldn't have turned out as stunning w/o them (I think). How about a 9? Swash |

Interesting lighting and texture. I am interested to know what the really light area in the lower right area of the picture is. It looks like a fire. |

This is really cool. I am assuming that the light on the right is a small town and not a forest fire. The colors are awesome. |

I love the twist this picture has on the other typical landscape pictures. |

If this was crystal clear, I'd give it a 12. It is an excellent capture. It just lacks a little of the clarity that I'd really like to see. Settle for 8? I'd settle for an 8 anytime!! - Inspzil |

I really like the colors in this, and the sky gives it a surreal look. Is that fire to the right? It looks a little overexposed/blown out, but this is still an interesting shot. |

Very neat looking photo. I like the composition and the colors. However, it seems a little unsharp to me, but that's probably because of the low light. |

Nice night shot. Are the tress on fire or is that just the street lights? Good colours. Focus is a little soft, but that is probably due to the long exposure. |

How long was the exposure? I think it was a bit too long, too much light picked up. Neat idea though.6. |
