I wish I didn't feel this was an outbuilding in a park or an estate. overdone pp: the light and shadows might have been quite nice. 2 |

I have the same type of comment as I had on the other Wuthering Heights shot. Interesting building. But it doesn't evoke much of the emotion or feeling of the novel. On the plus side -- normally I don't like harsh shadows, but it works in this case to get some of the moodiness. But there's so much to this novel, I don't know that a building alone can really channel it. -6- |

i like the layers of contrast here, pleasant looking outside, veiled in shadows and with hints of more underneath.
a 7 from me |

Sorta gets the right feeling, that unexpected, but almost tangible evil in the air.
Overall I don't really care for the processing (too soft) or the composition, but I think it fits well enough to merit a 6. |

makes me dizzy. way too busy. just a pic of the house out of its context does not make it for me 4 |

I like the mood of it, but somehow the setting lacks something, perhaps the great openness which should be around the house to give it a more apt Yorkshire moore setting. A 5 from me. |

Makes me dizzy to look at, but I kind of like that. Eerily inviting but the processing keeps distracting my appreciation. Mono was a good choice, I get the feeling of the WH era and gloom. 5. |

Overprocessing has clumped up the normal tonal range and the composition lacks clear intent. As to subject matter, this comes closer to the source inspiration than most images in the challenge. 5 |

Not a huge fan of this processing, which seems a little extreme for my tastes. Choice of B&W doesn't seem to benefit it much. Wonder how it would've looked in color, with some more subtle processing? |

Too much processing, IMO.
The black and white seem to not mesh well... theres a loss of detail in the trees and background.
I'm not feeling it.
Gave it a 3 |

To me the image has nothing to do with the title, not too sure the composition is good, and the processing seems clumpy.4. |

Nice choice, hope this does well! (not voting of course) |

This seems like it wants to have a darker moody feel, but it doesn't really happen. A little more on the black scale would have helped I think. That said, I have not read this book so may be missing something. 4 |

4...this is just too crunchy. It lacks the atmosphere I would expect from something inspired by Wuthering Heights. It's a not terribly well composed image of a stone building in bright dappled sunlight and is that a cyclone fence over on the left? Doesn't really conjured the Yorkshire moors for me. |

So much sharpening that the image trembles.
I know that it does not matter for a photo inspired by a classic novel, but showing a house implies some kind of faithfulness to the book. And I remember vaguely as having elaborate gothic designs around the front door.
I do not want a literal image, but I think that you aimed for one.
I wish I can mark this with a 5 but the processing is way too disturbing

This is not working for me at all, sorry. The composition is awkward, the processing is lackluster, and the fit for the book is marginal at best: there's no sense of height, for one thing (think "house on a hill") and there no sense of "wuthering", which is the oppressive sound the wind makes as it scours the lonely, bleak and barren moors. None of that comes through.
4 from me. |

even though I haven't read the book, I do feel as though you're evoking its mood through this odd processing. very interesting light and texture. 6 |
