Critique Club Review
Note: Do not take any comments in this review personally. They are only for the purpose of assisting with photography.
Composition: the tree trunk is a nice element and is by far the strongest part of the image. It's the only part that's really clearly recognizable. The water isn't really immediately recognizable as such due to the yellow color. Is the white in the foreground ice? Snow? Hard to tell.
Technical: Focus, exposure, etc, all good. A time of day with more dramatic lighting might enhance this subject.
Impact/Subject: As a shot for the landscape challenge, this one doesn't really capture the 'sweep' of a vista. It's more of a study of a tree trunk by a river. Some ideas: get higher; make the river the subject (ie not the tree); get on a bridge shooting out over the river; use a wider angle; shoot at a different time of day or when the lighting is more dramatic or colorful.

| Good eye for catching this scene. If the subject is the tree, I would have cropped at least 1/2 of the ground in front. Details seem a little soft - would prefer crisper detail on the tree trunk. |

| I like the colors in this one. However the tree is not a good focal point, it si distracting, I would try this shot from a few different angles.. |

| Very nice, I like the close-up of the tree and the rich colors with just a splatter of brighter colors at the base. Good composition and lighting. Good Luck |
