Dolichopodidae - Long Legged Fly
Pretty little pests, aren't they? And I do mean little. These guys only grow between 4mm - 9mm (1/8" - 3/8").

You guys really like your flies, doncha? Thanks for the awesome votes and comments.

You know, the day I took this I spent an hour and a half up a ladder taking photos of bees, hours and hours sorting and culling photos of bees, further hours processing images of bees and getting it down to a final half a dozen or so for my team to help me choose an entry for this challenge.


They chose the fly.

This is so damn electric it has melted two of my monitors. Melt one of my monitors, shame on you. Melt two of my monitors... they won't get melted again. Really, I'm out of monitors. I honestly have no idea how to do this as you have. It's amazing.

Excellent color and crisp detail. Would positioning the subject offset from center have a more dramatic effect? Nice work.
