Technically, it is an overlay although an analogic one instead of Photoshop. No reflection though, just double exposure.

It almost looks like an overlay, the way the leaves merge into the bark. I suspect a bit of a convoluted reflection sort of thing?

Interesting and mysterious. This photo kept my looking at it for several minutes trying to understand - was I looking at all leaves or leaves at the base of a tree? I like it!
