There is nothing wrong with zoo shots! When you can't go to the jungle, these can be very great! I have a few myself. |

Cool cat! A shame it wasn't looking directly at the camera. still I'll give it an 8. |

well, at least you were fortunate enough to find one up and moving...they're usually sleeping whenever i've seen them. the bamboo and his gaze add interesting elements to the image, but not enough to salvage the whole image. this might be more effective if extremely cropped to include the shoulder down to the top of the stone, then over just a hair past the bamboo pole. this would give it strength and mystery, while losing the zoo feel that comes in with the ground clutter. |

What a look :)
Baboos are probably very high. I wish you left it, it would've looked like a jungle, not like a cage like it looks now. |

Nice to see how the tiger is going around the bambus tree - would have been better if the tiger was looking at the camera but great colors and contrast. |

The intensity in the cat's eye is awesome. The green bamboo is an excellent contrast to the colors of the animal. |

This is a good shot of a tiger in a zoo. Has a kind of snapshot feel though. Colours could be much more intense, and if you could have made him fill the frame a little more. |

A very nice capture of this beautiful specimen. Since you chose to show the whole figure I would have done whatever ro get the claws. I do not like the bottom of the feet being cut off. If left with the inability to have captured the entire image, I would have gone for a facial study. But hey, that would be a different picture.
Despite this, the exposure and focus atr on the money and his pose is great. The colors are great. Bumping up to 6 |

A clear zoo shot, I don't feel very involved because of the view from the side and the tiger looking away. Focus, colors are perfect. |

Zoo Tiger.Considering the pipes protruding up through the concrete rocks and the fact that his feet are already cut off, I think I would have cropped all of that away, then he would be set free. Thus Jungle Tiger! 6 |

I'm afraid this doesn't jump out at me too much. The colours don't jump out at me that much, and above it's eyes are a little overexposed. I know it's not easy to get this right though, don't seem to manage it myself.
It doesn't seem like a natural shot, too enclosed in the reeds. Sorry for being too negative here :-) 6 |

Out of focus too much and should try to get eye contact with your subject be it a human or animal.

Very nice tiger image! The bamboo really helps, and your patience at waiting until the cat was behind one of them paid off nicely. I don't know if it was possible, but the zoo-structure of concrete/stone does ruin the illusion of wildness, though this is important only insomuch that you were aiming for that, if you were at all. Lovely tones, colors and focus. 8 |

This is a good image, but the background looks a bit staged. It also looks like you didn't have as much control of the lighting as you would like. That said, I love the expression capture on the tiger. I would not want to be on the other end of that stare. |

Intimidating. I liked to see is a bit lighter. The bamboo forms an interesting background, and was wondering if we could see more of it without distracting from subject. |

Wonderful shot, the head is nice and sharp. Shame the dof couldn't include the reast of the body. I love the bamboo. I'd definitely have gone for a tighter crop... the head is too far to the left for my taste in this shot. The foreground concrete thing really needs to go as well, it shouts 'zoo'! The perfect shot for me would have been a longer lens, with the head, upper legs and bamboo in portrait orientation. 7 |

I love pictures of these noble animals. Backround is good and not distracting. Focus is a little off around the midsection. Too bad the paws are obstructed by the rock. Overall a good picture though. |

It's a good capture of a tiger., but it is just too obvious that it is a zoo, with the sawed off bamboo. Maybe a tighter shot to make it look more "in the wild". |

A nice enough shot of a beautiful animal, but nothing really jumps out at me that makes this anything but an average image. Your focus and tonal range is good, but some things that bothers me include the foreground wall, cutting off the tiger's feet, the bamboo trunk in front of the tiger, dividing up the frame awkwardly, the barrel or cut off stump behind the tiger makes it clear that this is a zoo cage and the other small stump by his front paw that looks like a tin can. |

A nice picture, but no wow factor and the composition isn't too exciting to me. Unless this was taken in the jungle, it's a shot that anyone with a camera could take. |

I think this would have had more impact if the tiger was looking directly at the camera vs out of frame. The bamboo in front of the tiger is also distracting. Although I haven't seen a tiger in a while, the colors seem a bit muted to me. You did capture excellent details, however. 6 |

I always like tiger shots, they're great animals. I would have liked to see this shot cropped closer in on the head, cutting out that green pole in front of it, because I think that's distracting. 6 |

Awesome exposure and subject... the big cat's pose and intent expression are simply majestic. The bamboo background works well as it goes from focused and sharp to faded, dark, and shadowy, with good shadow detail. The colors throw me off a bit, though... it seems like you might have worked with the saturation a lot. As a result, the pole in the foreground looks splotchy, and there are cyan color artifacts on the tiger's light fur. |

Who am I to tell a "master" anything, but the colors here seem pretty dull. I took it into the AOL edit photo and hit auto enhance and it made a WORLD of difference. Made the whites whiter and the orange stand out so much more. I guess it just seems dark as is. Focus seems ok and the environment looks good with the tiger. Nothing distracting. ~Heather~ |

Seems a bit dark, and there's abit of motion blur near the tiger's backside. I'm sure with the darkness it would have been tough to work with a higher shutter speed. Not sure what length lens you used, but there are relatively inexpensive attachments for speedlights that throw their beams a good distance. If used off-camera form a remote, it would have been just what this shot needed. I *do* like your use of space, and you obvioulsy had a solid focus on the eyes, so overall this is a great shot. |
