Love the image but not because of any "negative space", whatever that is.

negative space of water invades the negative space of land. woman and dog define everything else as negative simply by taking the foreground. The light and textures are here are intoxicating. The photo is magic.

I can almost feel the wind. Nice capture, although it seems a little dark.

Details: Use the surrounding space of your subject to create the wow of the photograph.

Yes, this is about right for space (maybe a tad tight), but the issue for me is the lack of wow factor. It's nice, and I like the bird in flight, but there's just not a lot of impact here for me.
