 The Bee and the Butterfly were feeding off the same thistle today. Pt. Reyes National Seashore, Mt. Vision Road. Severe crop. 50-500sigma. Taken from the stopped car, handheld at 500mm.

All the right ingredients...sharp subject, nice DoF to set it off, and a bit of drama (especially if you are a butterfly). Well done.

Those look like the same contenders I have going in my flower shooting areas. It really is quite amazing that this looks like you were sitting right in front of the flower, but you were in your car.

When I saw the purple flower and the butterfly in the thumbnail, I thought this might be a picture from your Napa trip! I love the springly (is that a word?) color palette, which produces a vibrance that is so welcome by now. So much rain and grey! It's nice to be reminded of the warmer, more habitable weather at a time like this.

So how did those Napa pictures come out? :)
