 The temperatures have been frigid and the ranch hands have to break the ice on the horses' water feeders several times a day.

First time I have entered anything for a long, long time.

Great shot, love the composition. The clouds caught my eye right away. I have a Sigma 10-20 lens, and have always found that it tremendously enhances cloud/sky contrast. Probably something in the glass and/or coating. That effect works well here to fill out the upper half of the image.

Super pumped to have received my first Blue with this image, and after a very long hiatus!

I feel I have a new lease on photography recently, certainly helped by the fact that I am now living in Montana (literally on a ranch) where the photographic opportunities are terrific. Now I will have to somehow make time to enter some more challenges.

This will be on the front page for sure,wonderful slice of life on the ranch, love the use of the wide angle to make this horse look so massive, the guy throwing out whatever he is throwing out adds impact to this impressive shot,well done!
