 A cactus in a hot oven.

Editing process:

1. Shot as jpeg. Dimensions (1:1) as shot.
2. Photoshop adjustments: Partially transformed to black and white. Cyan color enhancements.
3: Lightroom adjustments: Highlights, white clipping, clarity and contrast enhancements. Black frame added.
4. Exported from Lightroom.

I was thinking about writing each letter of the word "DESERT" on the knobs on the stove, "DESSERT" below and "THE DYKES" on the flowerpot. But I decided to keep it simple and clean, yet dirty and noisy.

The Dykes is a fictional punk rock band (well, we did a single live jam session years ago, which was fun).

Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it. I will definitely continue. My camera is in the hands of a thief now though, but I will get a new one, no doubt.

The vibrant cactus within the oven is a powerful image. Juxtaposition at its best.

I love this concept, and the lighting in the oven is perfect. Just not sure why the burner controls were included. It's clear this is an oven, even without them.
