 A lone Black Wildebeest surveys his range. Autumn (Fall).
Golden Gate Highlands National Park, Free State Province, South Africa.

I achieved a 2nd placing (1st Runner Up) with this image in the well known
Mazda Wildlife Photography Competition in May 2013 against some stiff competition.
I've also had a 3rd placing there in June 2013.

Nice finish Harvey. Dramatic setting indeed. Not the "actual Sentinel" which is close to Golden Gate but a proud and dominant Sentinel indeed. Good score and well deserved!

Fantastic shot, those colours, that mountainous terrain in the background and that one animal looking at it all. I wish I could be in his place.
