This might not be the very first childhood memory but it's certainly the most enduring one. From infancy to adulthood I accompanied my mom or my aunt to their work places, Opera and ballet and Opera Comique, drew and painted with them, made models, went to every rehearsal, befriended stagehands, actors, ballet dancers, directors and ushers, watched shows from the rigging bridges - I never took ballet lessons. I think I knew better by looking at the sore feet of the ballerinas.

| I think most early memories are mostly incomplete and well, a little blurry. But with a few bits of sharpness that we have held on to. I think this is beautiful. Bumpity bump. |
