Today both Ryan ([user]Magnumphotography[/user]) and I happened to have the day off, so we decided to go shoot for this challenge. But I didn't feel like driving into Ottawa, which is quite a good ways away and very busy - we'd have had to go to the downtown core to get real street photography.
And unlike the age when Winogrand shot, and most of his work shows clean lines and little clutter (somewhat amazing considering he was in NYC) there are tons of street signs, more people, more traffic, more everything - which makes it much harder to get a simple street shot.
So we hared off to Smiths Falls instead. The downtown is very walkable and not jammed up, and best of all the streets follow a slope so it's easy to see a good shot.
