 Thanks for all the great comments. Late on Sunday afternoon neither Robert Bear_music nor I had a single landscape image, with or without sky, and the weather was pretty poor. At that point I wasn't planning to shoot anything last minute for this challenge but said I would keep Robert company. Once we got here the fur-type textures "hooked" my attention and I had to shoot them.

Nikki, this is one of the many marshes/wetlands we have on the cape. Many of them get flooded quire regularly, especially when strong off shore winds build up water levels, and this flattens the grasses. Historical fact: the marsh grass was key for the early settlers as a source of food for their animals.

Not being a sea or ocean girl, I'm having a little trouble orienting myself. Is this grass or seaweed? I do find the golden brown tones and softly curving lines very pleasing. Voted earlier.

I really like the tight crop of this version compared to the other photo in this challenge that I'm pretty sure was taken at the same location. As with the other photo, I still get a dead animal fur vibe from the image. The lighting and complimentary colors work well here.

A focused study of a locale that in another image in the challenge was a much more expansive landscape. Here we can pay attention to the pleasing contrast between the blues and the honey browns. The rocks stabilize the bank so that it doesn't up and ramble off, like the animal it so resembles. Very nice.
