I was looking to see a photo with cows.... but there is no real implication of milk - good idea, missed opportunity. |

(1) COMPOSITION (CONTENT) The composition of this photograph is good. The calves are looking directly at the camera which makes it much more interesting then if they had been looking away. There is nothing in the frame that distracts from the subject. Getting in close is a good thing.
(2) BACKGROUND there is just a tiny little bit of background. That row of trees is just enough to separate the subject and make the cows stand out.
(3) CAMERA WORK ,TECHNICAL Exposure is very well done. Your exposure keeps the whites very crisp without losing any of the detail in the grasses. You chose a good time of day to take this photograph, when the light is coming from the side and more details are visible.
(4) DIGITAL PROCESSING ,TECHNICAL Your post processing is very good. Colors and saturation are right on. Your cropping may be a little too tight, I would have liked to see a little more room on the left behind the blonde cow. It feels a little squeezed to me. You may have done this for a reason (i.e. to cut something distracting out of the photograph).
(5)MEETING THE CHALLENGE This photo does a good job of meeting the challenge. Unfortunately, these are calves and will not give milk for some time. I can over look that, but I think some of the other voters might call you on it.
(6) MY OPINION ON THE PHOTO I like this photo alot. The colors are bright, the focus is very crisp, and the subject is very interesting. |

Sure looks like you would have trouble getting milk from these!! Nice composition and I like the way they are both looking at the camera. |

Moo, and moo! Nice shot -- cows always have such interesting, ticked-off looking expressions. |

This seems scaled horizontally. It gives the cows a bizarre look. Other than that, they're well composed and kind of appealing, compared to some other cow shots in this challenge. |

Excellent capture. Composition is great as well. I also like the way the shadow is off the brown cow. Nice job..gl. |

The image seems somehow compressed horizontally (squeezed). I dunno, maybe just he angle the cows are standing. I like it. Neat how both cows are looking at the camera. Good luck. Jacko. 8 |

So, what were you doing to get these little fellows to pose for you? Awesome shot! I really expected to see more cows as a part of this challenge than what were actually submitted.
Thanks!

Very well done photo. You're going for the milk drinker, rather than milk producer? Was there something at the blonde cow's tail that needed to be cropped off? (Tad close crop on that side, IMO) Strong focus. 8 Swash |

this is an excellent shot. The cows' colors provide good contrast, and it is well focused and well lit. The only suggestion I might make is to not crop it quite so close on the left since you have a little space between the edge of the frame and the cow on the right.
PS -- How are those cows kept so clean?????????? |
