Critique Club:
Meeting the challenge: Excellent! This is definitely identifiable as milk or cream and you certainly "got" it!!
Composition: Good use of thirds, use of dark background to contrast against the milk (although it would have been nice to have been a little more solid) The chain is a little bit distracting but not a major problem. It would have been nice to see one eye to enhance the expression, but I certainly understand pouring milk over oneself in the middle of winter might not justify 100 shots of the moment ;)
Technical Quality: Again, I would like to have seen the background more solid. The capture of the moment is excellent, the skin tones good and the focus is very good. It appears you used a perfect shutter speed to stop the movement of the milk, and I love the splat on the nose! I would also like the background to have been a less speckled in addition to being a solid color. You might have been able to improve on this with a levels adjustment. Good focus and depth of field, also.
Creativity: Excellent, I think I might have called this "human sacrifice ritual for DPC", but the the satirical title fits well, too. Unlike some other comments, I think there is enough of your face showing to communicate a feeling of "arggh" during this shot.
Overall: Nice shot, fits well with the challenge, with background change, would have been at least an 8 for me. |

all self shot - no assistants - i set up a patio chair and a propped-up hat-on-a-stick to get the focus close - then i brought out a nice big glass and a gallon of milk - the first try i missed my head completely, which distracted me because on the second try i got about half of the back of my head BUT i forgot to take the shot! 3rd times a charm (or as close as i was willing to go that night - yes it was after 9 PM and i was bopping aroung outside in a pair of swim-trunks) |

Great shot, I hope this only took one attempt to get it right.Had your eye's been open it would look better. |

I hope you wamed the milk first, huh? I'm sorry but this photo is unappealing to me. It has everything with his his reaction. I expect he should be laughing or shocked.. but he looks almost bored with it. How many takes did he have to endure exactly?! Haha! If I could change something it would be to somehow lose the shadows on the cieling (it looks like). Maybe by opening up the aperture to blur them out? Dunno. Good luck! |

He doesn't look too refreshed :) I like the stop-action quality of it, but the guy's facial expression could probably be a little less pained. |

Well, that's quite a sacrifice for the sake of the challenge! Funny shot -- hopefully you didn't need too many re-shoots! |

Wild shot! I sure hope this is milk and not paint!! Good composition and stop action. I'm not sure how refreshing it would be. Good take and creativity on the challenge. |

Strange and a bit grotesque! Is this the same bearded man who was in that tongue shot in the "Body Parts" challenge? If so, he's a great subject for your photos... willing to do all kinds of things :). I like photos of people who look "real", and not classically photogenic.
The milk splash effect is very well captured, but I think the lighting is too strong, making UFO shaped shadows on your background. |

Wow, that's taking one on the chin for the site! Nice stop action! Lots of mild drops flying around, really fun. Did you want the drop's shadows? I might have tried doing this with a background further away, but it's your choice. 8 Swash |
