Photographer's Notes
About 30 miles from Seattle in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains is Snoqualmie Falls. Puget Sound Energy built a power plant inside the rock over which the water falls. The buildings inthe photo are part of the power plant. There is a fashionable hotel and restaurant there known as Salish Lodge. The falls are lighted for the benefit of the hotel guests. I took this photo from the boardwalk overlooking the falls. However I hiked down to the river trail (1/2 mile each way with 500 foot verticle gain) twice to get shots from other angles. Difficult hike in the dark, especially since I didn't use those photos! Hotel staff thought I was nuts and I guess I was. Hiking back up the second time in pitch dark, I scarred my self silly imagining what might be sneaking up on me. Turns out it was only my ego.

Hey, I've been there!! Sorry, but that's exciting because I live in Australia. I had a business trip to Bothell about 5 years ago, and the locals recommended these falls as a nice tourist place to visit on the weekend. I didn't have a camera with me on the trip, so thanks for proving an image to relive my memory. Great shot too.

Great shot, I'll have to try this at night, have only taken during the day as I live nearby this place. Even with the ISO 1600 it's still very clear.

One recommendation, ALWAYS take water to drink on the steep hike back during the Summer!!

Beautiful pic. Neatimage would have helped this submission. The noise around the water is pretty noticeable.

This falls looks great. I suggest you crop the building out though, the natural areas are beautiful here, but not the building!

One way to get that soft waterfall shot, take it at night! Good job that I think could be better with a closer crop to the top of the first small falls down to the mist. Great idea for a night shot though.

You chose good spot. I like color of water...and then it dissapears into the dark.

This is gorgeous. Where is this? It looks like a place near Seattle where I used to live.

Very good shot. I think I would like it better if you had cropped it about 1/2 the way up the falls.

I think I recall an earlier shot of the same subject, but viewed from another angle. Could be wrong, but don't really care. It is an awesome shot that fully deserves its 10. Good Luck!
