So thankful, and more than a little surprised, that this did so well - but I was hopeful. Was expecting top 5 but not a blue. Very much a serendipitous shot while out walking with the wife. Have one without the sun flare as well, but it just makes the image pop.

As for the sharpening comments, I expected them, and while I sharpened, I did it very limitedly, and masked it at the leaf. The haloing around the various branches is, as many guessed, in the original and from the sun. I guess it didn't hurt too much.

I need to post a comment thanking the Committee for not DQing me over some very ancillary branches I cloned out. I half-expected one going in, and was prepared for it. Then, when I actually won the challenge, I was thinking, "Yep, I finally win, and I get my first DQ!!", so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for being reasonable. I promise to hold back my next 1 1/2 complaints.

Good heavens, the bokeh, the gorgeous sunburst, that perfectly textured leaf ... love this! Maybe a tad of haloing but I think that's more backlighting than sharpening artifacts. My kind of beauty :-)
